Please ensure your schedule is free and that you are able to commit to a workshop before booking.
Our workshops are aimed at complete beginners, but those with more experience are also welcome. Age restriction is 16+ (under 18’s must be accompanied by a paying adult).
Our workshops have been carefully curated with a specific design, theme and learning content so unfortunately you will not be able to make something else during this workshop as this will distract from other participants' experience. However you're welcome to join any of our available freestyle pottery club studio sessions for an initial taster, and perhaps even stay for a full month to really exercise your creativity!
As part of the workshop design, the finish has been specially chosen to provide a specific looking end-product to provide the best value and managed expectations. But, as mentioned above, you can join our freestyle pottery club studio sessions to further explore decorating techniques!
Ensure your schedule is free and that you are able to commit to a workshop before booking.
Working with clay can be messy and we suggest you come to the workshop in clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty with clay or clay dust.
Watches or jewellery are best left at home. Triya Ceramic Studio will not be held responsible for any damage to clothing, shoes, jewellery, watches, mobile devices, or any other personal effects whilst in the studio or on premises.
Short nails will make the building, handling, smoothing and clean-up process of all pottery items easier to manage.
Classes are designed to run for a certain maximum length of time and will start on time. If you are running late you can still join the class but any missed time cannot be made up at the end of the workshop.
Classes must be booked via the booking link/s above, and paid for in full in advance. No payment, cash or otherwise, will be accepted on the day or in the studio.
No drop-ins (anyone who have not booked via the course links) will be allowed to take part in the workshops.
These workshops are suitable for ages 16+.
Late cancellations - one week before the start of workshops or less, or no-shows, will forfeit the course and we appreciate your understanding that unfortunately no rescheduling or reimbursement can be offered for 1-day workshops.
All other timely cancellations can be done by sending us a WhatsApp on 077 636 22000 for a refund minus the transaction and booking fees of £5, or a one-time reschedule.
We reserve the right to cancel a workshop and reschedule it for a future date. Any workshop cancellations will be communicated well in advance to all participants via WhatsApp message.
All work made in the workshops will be dip-glazed (in the dip design of that particular workshop) and fired.
Once an item has been glazed and fired it cannot be re-glazed and re-fired.
No other glazes or colours will be available for use during this workshop.
No other type of item or alternative form can be made during this workshop - this workshop is specifically designed for creating the subject item.
*** We will try to have all finished work ready for collection within 5 weeks after the workshop. Once items are ready for collection we will store all items from a single workshop for a maximum of 2 months only. Any work not collected after this date will unfortunately be disposed of due to limited storage space. Collection of work is the responsibility of the maker, any postage request will be an additional cost.
NOTE: Please be aware that, despite our guidance during the workshop, build failures can still occur within the clay body, and while we exercise great care with every piece we put in the kiln, once the firing process starts a lot of things can go wrong and work can crack, explode, or be damaged by another piece exploding. This is unfortunately out of our hands and part and parcel of the many difficulties of working with clay, and we will not be held responsible for any damages.
We want you to have the best experience during your time in the studio and part of that is making sure all participants comply with our instructions, rules, and health and safety procedures. We reserve the right to exclude any participant if they consistently fail to meet any of these conditions.
We ask that you follow all directions and instructions given during the workshop to ensure you are able to create your item successfully. Failure to do so may result in an item that does not turn our to your satisfaction or that may suffer a failure during finishing.
Please be respectful and considerate of other students when classes are being delivered in the pottery.
Please be aware you are in a working pottery studio and care and attention must be given to all tools, equipment, and the premises and fixtures. Any damages caused by your actions directly or indirectly: breaks, spills, drops, contaminations, etc. will be billed to you accordingly for the full replacement cost of that item.
Orientation will be provided on the tools you will be using for a particular workshop. Please don't use any other tools or equipment in the studio.
Please don't touch, move, or handle any other items of pottery that are currently being stored in the studio - these are the property of other students and must be treated respectfully!
We do not allow the removal of studio tools, materials, or equipment for use at home or elsewhere.
Triya Ceramic Studio will not be held responsible for any injury you may incur if you break the rules of the studio.
